About Lou Zettler
Lou Zettler is a 35-year veteran insurance professional, small-business owner, and hands-on builder based in Plano, Texas. Over five decades he has restored classic wooden boats and a 1960 Chris-Craft Continental, flipped old houses, transformed a Texas ranchette across twelve years, built split rail fences by hand, and raised an 18-foot tipi single-handed.
Today he owns and operates Hidden Pond Lodge, a luxury cabin retreat in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He continues to work in insurance, specializing in single premium deferred annuity strategies he personally uses and recommends. He is the founder of Tech Innovation Ambassadors for Seniors, a free program helping older adults build confidence with AI and modern technology.
Lou writes about Zettler family history, restoration projects, and travel on Substack, shares Cybertruck adventures on X, and keeps the memory of the 1970s “Men of Mermaid” beach crew alive online. His work blends practical experience, curiosity, and a long view of technology, craft, and personal history.
